A Russian traveler went on a cruise around the Caribbean islands, met elderly Americans and found out the size of their pensions - she described her reaction as "shock". The girl shared the information with the editorial staff of "Lenta.ru".

The tourist said that she was on a cruise with her family, but often spent time alone, and therefore foreigners often met her. "Once, a couple from the US sat down next to me and started telling me about their life in Orlando . They shared that they often travel with different cruise lines and love this type of vacation," the Russian woman reported the couple's words.

After that, the girl turned the conversation to a discussion of pensions, and the Americans admitted how much they receive. “The man said that he worked as a military photographer all his life and now his pension is ten thousand dollars. Can you imagine? That’s almost 900 thousand rubles! Can it be that someone in Russia receives that kind of money in retirement!?” the traveler was surprised.

At the same time, the couple said that this money does not make them rich, because it is not that much for life in the USA. According to the Russian woman, the Americans complained that they often have to save, they almost never go to restaurants and even chose the cruise that was at a reasonable price. "When I told them the size of the average pension in Russia, they did not believe me," the girl concluded.

Earlier, a Russian woman had talked to a man from Lithuania on a cruise and told him about life in Moscow . When the tourist shared that in the Russian capital you can have dinner in a good restaurant for $15, the foreigner did not believe her and replied that you can’t eat for that kind of money in Lithuania.
